A three-day consultation on learning for sustainable development called "Learning to change our world" was held in the Swedish city of Göteborg on 4-7 May 2004.

Under the motto reflect - rethink - reform, some 350 participants from more than 70 countries and five continents gathered for intensive discussion - and an experiment in learning.

Participants were invited with a view to ensuring diversity - professional, geographic and cultural.

The consultation participants reprensented all modes and levels of education, from pre-school learning to universities and colleges, adult education and vocational training, governmental, intergovermental and non-governmental organisations, engaged in training or learning for sustainable development.

The consultation was an unofficial event. No joint decklaration or decision was adopted.

This report sees to explain the process leading to the consultation, capture the atmosphere and the dynamics of the event and illustrate the results of the consultation.
